What’s the point of iPad if you build it into a netbook?

The iPad, increasing in popularity day by day, is a natural target for accessory manufacturers.

There’s something that makes me wonder, though. Take a new docking device (for want of a better term) called ZAGGmate as an example. According to the sales copy, the keyboard version “only adds about 1/4 of an inch to the iPad”. All fine and well, but doesn’t that begin to approach the slimmest netbooks on the market? Netbooks that feature a whole lot more user comfort, have a whole lot more computing power and run a whole lot more applications than the iPad?

Wasn’t the iPad supposed to be the device for the immediate future as such? I’m mystified.
