Very (too?) public news crowdsourcing

A new way of crowdsourcing news: put an “advertisement” up on Twitter for employees who might be able to give inside information for a technology scoop.

I know, this isn’t much different from calling your deep throats inside companies, an age-old method, but somehow it seems a bit, well, unorthodox. What do you think?
